Online Obituaries Linda Lee Roach, 67, of Litchfield, died Tues., Aug. 31, 2010 at 8:10 p.m. in her home. She was born on May 28, 1943 in Litchfield, a daughter of Clifton & Bernice (Reubart) Newhouse. Before retiring in 2008, she was employed by Litchfield Community Unit School District #12 as a secretary at Madison Park Elementary School for 31 years. She previously worked for the Illinois Dept. of Revenue, George H. Knostman Engineering Firm in Hillsboro & WEPCO Mfg. in Litchfield until its closing. She was a member of Church of the Ascension in Mt. Olive. She was also a member of the Scarlet Sweethearts of the Red Hat Society. She was an avid gardener, loving plants & flowers. In addition to being the most wonderful & loving mother and grandmother, she loved her job as a secretary and enjoyed working with all the children, parents & staff during her years at Madison Park School. She married Ronald Keith Roach on Apr. 4, 1964 in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Litchfield. Rev. Francis J. Lawler presided over the ceremony. Mr. Roach survives. She is also survived by:

12 grandchildren, Elizabeth (Andrew) Stewart; Joshua & Jacob Walker;
Jackson & Hunter Roach; Cory, Sean & Aleksander Brune;
Ethan Roach & Katy Everett; Kayla & Casson Schmidt
1 great-grandson, Hudson Walker
1 brother, Rick (Billie) Slightom of Girard
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifton Newhouse & Bernice (Albert) Gasen; 2 grandchildren, Meghan Everett & Carter Schmidt; son-in-law, David Schwab.
Funeral Information
Memorial services will be held Sat., Sept. 4, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield. Fr. Ted Schelich, Chaplain of St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield, & Brother Ed Diveley, pastor of Southside Church in Litchfield, will officiate. Inurnment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery in Litchfield. Visitation will be held Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until service time in the funeral home. Following the services a meal will be provided for family & friends in the V.F.W. in Litchfield.
