Cleta Irene Painter, 69, of Litchfield, died Mon., Aug. 9, 2010 at 5:20 p.m. in her home. She was born on Nov. 19, 1940 in Stonington, IL, a daughter of Kenneth Carl & Louise Lena (Schubach) Wiseman. She graduated from Stonington High School. Mrs. Painter was a member of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield, Women of the Moose, where she served as recorder of the organization, Litchfield Eagle’s Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary, Scarlet Sweethearts, all of Litchfield & Herman Chapter of The Eastern Star in Hillsboro. She served many years as South Litchfield Twp. Supervisor. In earlier years, she served as Township Trustee, worked at the County Treasurer’s office & for the Secretary of State & also for Congressman Jerry Costello. She married Glenn Warren Painter on Jan. 31, 1975 in Carlinville. He survives. She is also survived by:

Funeral Information

Funeral services will be held Thurs., Aug. 12, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, in Litchfield. Rev. William Zanton, of Luther Memorial Church in Springfield, will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Ridge Cemetery in Honey Bend. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. in Mt Zion Lutheran Church. Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield is in charge of arrangements.
