Dorothy J. Sikorski

Dorothy Jean “Tootie” Sikorski, 78, of Litchfield, died Fri., June 25, 2010 at 8:06 a.m. in Memorial Medical Center in Springfield. She was born on Dec. 30, 1931 in Litchfield, a daughter of Roy W. & Alice E. (Karrick) Simmons. She was employed as a material handler at Sierra International in Litchfield before retiring in 1995. She married John Jacob “Jack” Sikorski, Jr. on Mar. 26, 1951 in Litchfield. He preceded her in death in 1973. She was a past member of American Legion Post #436 & VFW Post #3912 Ladies Auxiliaries and Women of the Moose Chapter 528, all in Litchfield. In her spare time, she loved to read & enjoyed working with her flowers.
She is survived by:

1 son, Larry Sikorski of Litchfield
3 daughters, Theresa (Ben) Pulley of Litchfield
Loretta (Sam) Tyszko of Hillsboro
Mary (Joe) Smith of Carlinville
1 brother, Robert Simmons (companion, Alberta Norris) of Girard
8 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a granddaughter, Trisha Sikorski.

Funeral Information

Funeral services will be held Tues., June 29, 2010 at 10 a.m. in Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield. Fr. Ted Schelich, chaplain of St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield, will officiate. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery in Litchfield. Visitation will be held Monday from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
