Daniel E. Heise, Sr.

December 25, 1935 - August 23, 2010

Daniel Edward Heise, Sr., 74, of Litchfield, died Mon., Aug. 23, 2010 at 11:33 p.m. in his home. He was born on Dec. 25, 1935 in Litchfield, a son of Ambrose Elmer & Kathyrn Theresa “Katie” (Barry) Heise. He was a graduate of Litchfield High School Class of 1954 & later graduated from Ranken Trade School in 1956. He then entered the U.S. Army during peacetime & was stationed in France. He married Helen Sheila McBride on Feb. 14, 1961 in Granite City, IL. She survives. They purchased the Muse-Edwards Plumbing & Heating business in 1978. Together they owned & operated Dan Heise Heating & Plumbing, Inc. in Litchfield until retiring last December. He was a member of Holy Family Parish in Litchfield where he served as a trustee for several years. He was also a member of Litchfield Country Club, Litchfield Jaycees & Antler’s Club. He served on the Litchfield Volunteer Fire Department from 1967 to 1980. He was an honorary member retiring after 13 years of service to the community. He had held several office positions with the East Alton – Wood River Mechanical Contractor’s Assn. Local #553. Besides his wife, Helen, he is also survived by:

Several nieces & nephews
He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Patrick B. & William F. Heise.

Funeral Information

Funeral Mass will be said Sat., Aug. 28, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in Holy Family Catholic Church in Litchfield. Fr. James Neuman, of Holy Family Catholic Church & Fr. Ted Schelich, Chaplain of St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield, will preside. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery in Litchfield. Visitation will be held Friday from 3:00 until 8:00 p.m. in Plummer Funeral Home. The Rosary will be recited at 8:00 p.m.
