Gerald D. "Doc" Trimble

Gerald Dale “Doc” Trimble, 86, of Litchfield, died Sat., Dec. 24, 2011
at 3:30 p.m. in St. John’s Hospital in Springfield. He was born on
Jan. 23, 1925 in Litchfield, a son of Francis Albert & Fanny Velma (Baney) Trimble. Mr. Trimble was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps & served in the South Pacific Theatre during WWII. He was a member of Union Ave. Christian Church in Litchfield & Litchfield Moose Lodge #1634. In his earlier years, he was very active with the Litchfield Jaycees. He enjoyed camping, dancing & fishing. Over the years, he was employed by International Paper Co – CPC Rexel in Litchfield in Maintenance for 36 years. He also had operated Trimble’s Junction Standard located on Old Route 66 & 16 in Litchfield, co-owned Trimble Trucking, worked as a meat-cutter & was a mechanic for Brubaker Motor Co. in Litchfield. He married Margaret Corder on Aug. 13, 1948 in Illiopolis, IL. She survives. He is also survived by:

2 sons, Jerry P. Trimble (companion, Joan Flarity) of Bunker Hill
Ray C. (Kathy) Trimble of Donnellson
1 daughter, Brenda (Harold) Lankutis of Litchfield
10 grandchildren
9 great-grandchildren
He was preceded in death by his parents; twins sons in infancy;
an uncle, Lewis E. Baney.

Funeral Information

Funeral services will be held Thurs., Dec. 29, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. in Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield. Rev. Jay Johnson, Senior Pastor
of Union Ave. Christian Church in Litchfield, will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Litchfield. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 5 until 8 p.m. in the funeral home.
