Janet Carol Caselton, 69, of Shipman, died Sun., July 5, 2009 at
10:55 p.m. in St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield. She was born on Oct. 12, 1939 in Golden Eagle, IL, a daughter of Lawrence A. & Mary A. (Brimslager) Hagen. She married Paul William “Bill” Caselton on June 8, 1957 in St. Mary’s Church in Brussels, IL. He died on Aug. 4, 1982. She was a member of SS Mary & Joseph Catholic Church in Carlinville. She was an Administrative Assistant at Owens–Illinois Glass Co. in Alton. After her husband passed away, she worked for the Macoupin County Public Health Dept. and later retired from there. In her spare time, she enjoyed her pets and entertaining friends. She is survived by:
2 sisters, Marian (Carl) Kirn of Golden Eagle
Joan (Richard) Smith of Plainview
Several nieces & nephews
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Leroy Hagen; 1 sister, Mary Jane Hagen.
Funeral Information
A Concelebrated Memorial Mass will be said Thurs., July 9, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. in SS Mary & Joseph Catholic Church in Carlinville. Fr. George Morelock will be the Celebrant and Fr. Tom Donovan & Fr. Robert Porter Concelebrants. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until service time in the church with a time of fellowship to be held following Mass. Inurnment will be in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto on Friday at 11:00 a.m.
