Eileen Marie Hartke, 89, of Litchfield, died Tues., Mar. 9, 2010 at 6:45 a.m. in St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield. She was born on Sept. 2, 1920 in Litchfield, IL, a daughter of Henry W. & Freda A. (Doll) Boden. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in rural Litchfield. She married Arthur August Hartke on Apr. 13, 1941 in St. Charles, MO. He died on Dec. 24, 1999. She was a cook & waitress at Varner’s Café for several years and also had worked at Schutt Manufacturing, both in Litchfield. In her spare time, she enjoyed working on the family farm & reading. She is survived by:

2 sons, Larry (Marilyn) Hartke;
Mark (Marcie) Hartke;
1 daughter, Diane (John) Cohn;
1 sister, Minnie Hartke, ALL of Litchfield
3 grandchildren, Marci (Kevin) Aherin; Jana (Matt) Buske;
Jared Hartke
3 great-grandchildren, Konnor & Karson Aherin;
Madelyn Buske
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband & a brother, William H. Boden.

Funeral Information

Funeral services will be held Fri., Mar. 12, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. in Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield. Rev. Jonathan Bontke, pastor of Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield, will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Litchfield. Visitation will be held Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service in the funeral home.
