Mary L. Hickerson

January 28, 1930 - July 26, 2010

Mary Lou Hickerson, 80, of Litchfield, died Mon., July 26, 2010 in Heritage Manor in Litchfield. She was born on Jan. 28, 1930 in Litchfield, the daughter of Russell & Almyra (Cress) Claxon. She was a graduate of Litchfield High School. She worked as a secretary for Buske Lines, Inc. for 30 years & had also helped in the family business, Beck Cleaners, both in Litchfield. She attended Pleasant Hill Christian Church near Raymond & was a member of Litchfield Women of the Moose Chapter #581. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing cards, camping & shopping. She married Everett E. Hickerson on Jan. 18, 1948 in Union Ave. Christian Church in Litchfield. He survives. Also surviving are:

1 son, Calvin Hickerson of Alton
Nephew that she raised, Michael Claxon of Hillsboro
Daughter-in-law, Judy Hickerson-Borror of Gillespie
1 brother, Bill Claxon of Rantoul
2 grandchildren, Sherry (Kenny) Bergschneider;
Kevin (Stephanie) Hickerson, ALL of Litchfield
4 great-grandchildren, Michelle & Michael Claussen,
Michaela Bergschneider & Ashley Hickerson
She was preceded in death by her parents & step-father, Harold Beck.

Funeral Information

Funeral services will be held Fri., July 30, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield. Burial will be in Elm Lawn Cemetery in Litchfield. Visitation will be held Friday from 9:00 a.m. until service time in the funeral home.
